Campus Involvement

Every Friday our chapter members go to Sankofa Academy in Oakland and teach elementary school children how to read. This program is called Champions Are Readers, or as well refer to it CAR, which falls under Pi Beta Phi's philanthropy Read > Lead > Achieve which supports literacy. We have even had the chance to show some of these children around our school! We also host at least three big events through out the academic year. Our Fall semester event this year was Pi Phi Pizookies where we sell giant cookies with ice cream to raise money. The two events we host in the Spring semester are Pie a Pi and Arrowbands. Pie a Pi allows people to purchase whipped cream pies and pie us Pi Phi's to raise money for philanthropy. This year Pi Kappa Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi, and Alpha Epsilon Pi even co-hosted the event with us! Arrowbands is THE biggest Greek philanthropy event on our campus and it involves sororities, fraternities, and sports teams competing in a dance battle! Below are images of us showing the children from Sankofa Academy what UC Berkeley is like.
